Many of our audience members have told us how much they enjoy the comfort, acoustics and ambience of Holy Trinity Church as a venue for our performances. However the limited stage capacity has meant we have only been able to schedule concerts there with a relatively small orchestra.
Now, thanks to a generous donation of funds from TECT, we have been able to purchase a set of portable stage extension units, that will allow us to bring a larger orchestra to Holy Trinity. The units have arrived from overseas and have been put up in a ‘practice run’ . Although we haven’t yet tried them out with the full orchestra, it appears that they will do exactly what we want and we look forward to performing some big concerts there later this year.
Our players enjoy performing at Holy Trinity with its great acoustic, and the size of the venue allows us to accommodate a big audience with plenty of space for social distancing if needed. We will continue to present concerts requiring a solo piano at Baycourt, with its wonderful Steinway.
The staging units will be available for hire by other groups so we hope more large scale events can take place at Holy Trinity Church in future.
Thank you TECT for your help and Holy Trinity Church for partnering with us in this venture!
