Committee Members

Elected members 2024

  • President: Pauline Logger (Flute). The orchestra is Pauline’s happy place, as she finds orchestral music very moving and powerful. She feels very privileged to be a part of this group of  wonderful people playing beautiful music.
  • Treasurer: Robert Shelton (Violin). Robert is a violinist who joined the orchestra in 2008. He finds mixing with creative musicians a delightful change from his daytime job, working as a project manager & engineer.
  • Secretary: Brigid Eady (Violin). Brigid is a retired farmer living in Kinloch, Taupo. Having played the last 30 years in Opus Orchestra it is a pleasure to play with BOPS and enjoy playing some larger symphonic works. Travelling to participate in making music is a fact of life for people in the country but the friendship and carpooling with BOPS players makes the journeys fun.
  • Committee members:
  • Rebecka Beetz (Violin and Concertmaster). Rebecka enjoys getting a break from work as a translator and being a Mum, by playing violin in the orchestra.
  • Mandi Bromwich (Violin). I first joined BOPS when I moved to Tauranga 25 years ago, so I’m nearly part of the furniture! When I’m not playing, teaching or working I do my best to escape somewhere with my mountain bike.
  • Rebecca Irvine (Violin). Rebecca first joined the Bay of Plenty Symphonia in 2010. She is a member of the violin section and has had the pleasure of playing a few concert series as guest concertmaster. Rebecca also plays regularly for Opus Orchestra and Autangi Ensemble. Rebecca is a lawyer at Holland Beckett Law and is delighted to be able to bring her legal experience to the Committee.
  • James Pinchin (Percussion).
